McKinney Heights community is governed by a Home Owners Association (HOA) of which every homeowner in the community is a member of.   The HOA is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by a HOA management company - Goodwin Management, based out of Austin.

 The Board is ultimately responsible for the oversight of the community association ("the buck stops with the Board"). Although the Board may retain and delegate some of its duties to volunteers, contractors and professionals, the Board is still ultimately responsible for the duties it may have assigned to others.  The Board consists of five members, all of which are residents in the community.  

Goodwin Management is responsible for the daily operations of the HOA like ensuring vendors get paid, compliance with the HOA rules, collecting HOA dues, etc.  They are the go-to-guys for questions relating to anything with the HOA.  The point of contact for Goodwin is the property manager assigned to our community, Jim Smitherman.
